Recommendation for hosting unlimited domains?
I currently use hostmonster.com and their uptime sucks, and I keep getting suspended for using to much cpu quota.
Any recommendations?

I don’t really need that much space maybe 5GB at most. The only thing that is getting backup is my MSSQL database which is small (15MB right now) but I need that backup atleast every hour. I also need my SVN files backup too nightly.
Basically I just want a cheap offsite backup service thats has been around for at least a couple of years that I can trust to hold my backups. I plan on prepaying for a year in advance.
Also, feel free to post replies if you have additional comments.
Thanks
HERE IS THE EXPLANATION OF THE TWO CHOICES IN THE POLL!
1. A host who is powered by the ultra-reliable Rackspace network (100% uptime SLA). This host would provide shared hosting accounts, but without some of the extra gimmick features (no Fantastico, no sitebuilder, custom control panel that is easier to use than cPanel). Also, automated instant signups wouldn’t be available - when you fill out the sign up form, your dedicated account manager sets it all up in under 24 hours, and emails you the info. The online portal would allow you to view previous invoices, and change your credit card info. Also, you can manage FTP users, email accounts, your domain… all the basics… online. This host has English-speaking has 24/7 phone and email support.
2. A host powered by a somewhat less reliable network with cPanel, Fantastico, and a fully-automated signup and management system. This host only has email support, unless you have a serious, level two issue.
Basically what would you recommend?
Thanks.
What we aim at ?
Just an host to keep our back up files remotely
What kind of content hosted?
Content doesn’t really matter as we are not going to go on public display with any of the files
How much space required?
5gb minimum space
How much bandwidth required?
Generally we don’t need bandwidth as we are just going to upload files, so just a minimum of 1gb bandwidth is fine
SSh service ?
We need ssh service to move our files around, we are not going to mis-use the service so the hosts need not worry about our traps. We certainly need "ssh" its mandatory if we would like to join a host
Back up?
Certainly yes, if remote server back up it would be even great.
Maximum price - $6-8 per month, as we are not going to use bandwidth or any of other services.
I’ve been with servage.net for the last two years now. Started off with 1.5MB/s, not it’s only 200kb/s and I have about 10-15 downtimes a day ( that I know off ) and the support is horrible.
If you have been with the same webhost for over a year, and you are still satisfied, can you please upload a 5mb+ .zip or .rar file and post it in this topic? That way I know what I am paying for when I signup for another 12-24 months. I have a 20Mbit/s connection ( download at 2.5MB/s with download-manager ), so It’s easy for me to test if a host is good or not.
I ( Belgium - ISP: Telenet - 20Mbit ) will download the file and a friend of mine ( USA - ISP: Comcast - 16Mbit ) downloads the same file. The avarage download-speed can be viewed below:
- 1and1.com: 58kB/s
- Servage.net: 285kB/s
- Lunarpages.com: 315kB/s
- Bluehost.com: 395kB/s
My Servage.net contract will expire in a few weeks, so there is more then enough time for me to test many hosts.
PS: I am not searching for deticated hosting.
I have just had a quick conversation with monegaboy123 regarding his apparent sale of 115 clients.
It just appears fishy to me, however I’ll let you guys form your own opinion and at least there will now be a search result in WHT for anyone else he contacts.
