Looking to upgrade host - somewhat unique situation

I’m running a kind of banner exchange program where i’m getting thousands of requests to a php script along with sql queries from a variety of sources (and growing rapidly) To give you an idea, the address is publicitywheel dot com.

The problem is, i’m starting to see some real slowdowns (10+ second load times) through Dreamhost, and I just don’t think it’s up to it anymore.

Can anyone kindly recommend what sort of host would be ideal for my needs? Should I avoid shared hosting (given the nature of my site) and move straight to dedicated? If not, will VPS be good enough? I’ve had my eye on Managemybox but don’t know if it’ll be overkill for what I need.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Windows Hosting Requirement

Hi,

Can anybody recommend me a good host with following features

1)Reliable service
2)Multiple domain hosting (2 domains)
3)15 GB or more storage space
4)100 GB or more monthly transfer
5)Dotnetpanel or Helm control panel
6)SmarterMail Webmail
7)ASP, ASP.NET 2/3.5, PHP5 Support
8)MYSQL / MSSQL Database support
9)Windows 2003 Server

I already found some good packages on Brinkseter and Netfirms but the problem is they have their own branded control panel and webmail, which I am not interested to give to the client.

I will appreciate your response

Thanks in advance

Beware ndchost bite

hi there folks,

Just want to make sure you dont get burnt by ndchost. Not happy with the service I decided to move away from nchost. Before pointing my domain away I sent one of many emails to support and asked them to cancel my services and that I was moving on.
I did this 14 days before the end of the month cycle.. anyway..
The next three months were still billed and I was forced to mention this right here.
I repeatedly sent them a email for a refund because of the cancellation. They have not responded to my emails.
Each time I sent a email a auto ticket did respond.
So there you see, beware of this "company".

Domain Name Tools

For most types of domains, domains names are issued on a first-come-first-served basis to paying customers. The exception is when trademarks is involved - for some domain types, trademark holders have been priority for initial registrations, but for all, trademark holders generally have some recourse (which may include obtaining the relevant name) if somebody else tries to illegally exploit names containing or related to their trademark (this illegal practice is known as “cybersquatting).

Build Traffic With Expired Domains

Using expiring domain names can provide a good source of income. It is not the same as internet real estate, where you buy good URL names and sell them later for a profit. To do that, you will have to get positioned in a certain market early on, if not, your effort will be wasted. Most good markets for internet domain names buying and selling are long gone.

How to Buy a Domain Name

You need to consider the following about your company your name, the products and services you intend to sell, the type of marketing you wish to engage in and the kind of traffic you want to attract. These details, will help you know exactly how to do a strategy and plan your business. A client or customer should be able to tell that kind of business you do by viewing your domain and it should also be short and clear. A customer should therefore be able to comfortably remember your domain if they want to refer to the site. Achieving this may need you to have somebody who can critic your options until you arrive at a suitable name. You might be overwhelmed by the numerous options but the idea is to take time and think about it.
